This subreddit is specifically oriented for you to post your setup and share with others. My two biggest things for my desk are frequent culling to get rid of things that don't belong, and good organization so things are with other like items and easy to find.Post your battle stations, work setups, leisure spots, gaming rooms and room layouts here. It's like a junk drawer, except it's organized and if it's junk, it belongs in the trash, not stored. If I need something that I don't use often (like the D&D dice), I know where it is. The 3rd larger drawer holds a couple of binders with photos as well as a box containing basically all of my random keepsakes. There are also some batteries, my checkbook, and passport in this drawer.

I'm very careful about what I keep in those two so they don't get cluttered, but basically all the small things from all over my house got consolidated here. The four containers are writing utensils, small scratch paper/post its and misc office supplies, and two general misc things. Getting rid of all my cheap pens that didn't work and pencils with shitty erasers was really helpful in getting organized. The other top drawer I've used a couple small containers to organize.

Envelopes, stationary, and two smaller notebooks that I can toss in my purse if I want to take them along. I have a folder with important documents, a sudoku book, journal, and one notebook for notes/scratch paper. In the wide short drawer I keep paper things. I've got three drawers, I took pictures of two of them. Keyboard and mouse can push up to the wall and leave plenty of working space.
Minimalist desk set up Pc#
I've mounted my monitor on my wall and keep my PC tower on a small table next to the desk (I have dogs and carpet so I didn't want it on the floor). I have to keep a clear surface so that I can easily do all three of these things. I use my desk as my computer workstation, my place to write and pay bills, as well as my dining table. Clutter-free rooms, To Do lists, and calendars are amazing coping mechanisms. I fall behind on paying bills and keeping track of important stuff. Part of this is overcompensating for my ADD, If I weren't overcompensating (or anytime I lapse) stuff piles up and makes a mess.

That space is meant to have a thing or two that's current, but I won't let myself stack stuff there. I also have a zone there for miscellaneous stuff. If something takes up enough space that it goes outside it's zone, it probably doesn't belong on my desk. There's a coaster for a drink, pens go in the pen cup. I have a smaller mouse mat that I place my mouse on. I have a mouse mat that my poker keyboard rests on, and nothing else is allowed on that mat. I have a theatre background, so I think of it like a prop table where everything has a section and nothing else can take a part of that section. Part of the way I've done this on my desk is by zoning it out. If it gets beyond where it would take 15 minutes then, it's officially a mess. If it's back to it's zero-state, then I know I'm just fine. So I set a timer to 15 minutes once or twice a week and tidy everything. I try to keep everything within 15 minutes of being clean. It may not seem very minimal, but the way I manage to keep a "clean" desktop is sort of the same way I keep a clean house. But I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

It is almost undoubtedly not the most "minimal" set up here-if you're going to have a desktop computer, you also need a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to go with it-pretty non-negotiable. The desk light is very thin and tall, so it's not at all in the way. I also have a small organizer that has space for some pencils and filer where I keep my iPad. And I'm more picky about that than the sound quality on any YouTube videos or whatever. Granted the sound isn't amazing, but I don't need speakers that would otherwise take up space and collect dust. I also bought a monitor that has built-in speakers. I got a computer desk from Ikea and put the computer in the cabinet (which I keep closed unless the computer is on). One thing that concerned me was how much space and clutter would be on my desk. I recently built a desktop computer to replace my laptop (for the computing power, and mobility wasn't as much of a concern).
